Space Sentinel tracks near-Earth asteroids, comets, close approaches and meteor showers, and shows you when and where to see them from your own location. It is an independent project run by one person — no company behind it, and no affiliation with NASA or JPL. The data comes from NASA and JPL's public feeds, with place names from OpenStreetMap.
If you sign up for alerts, we store your email address and your alert preferences. That is everything. Your location is never stored and never reaches us: when you use "View From Here", the place-name lookup goes straight from your browser to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service.
Visit counts come from Cloudflare's analytics, which are cookie-free and anonymous. The site sets no tracking cookies.
Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link, and the same link opens your preferences page, where you can change what you get or stop alerts entirely.
